Travis Kelce played coy when Jason Sudeikis cheekily inquired about his plans to propose to girlfriend Taylor Swift.
The Chiefs tight end and the Ted Lasso actor teamed up for a skit during the charity event, Big Slick Celebrity Weekend, in Kansas City Saturday night, where Sudeikis asked the athlete a few uncomfortable questions. ‘Hey Travis, real talk OK, just the guys here,’ the comedian, who donned a fake moustache, aviator-style shades and a cap, began.
‘Hey … when are you going to make an honest woman out of her?,’ he said of the Love Story songstress, while tilting his sunglasses down his nose. The crowd at the T-Mobile Center cheered as Kelce smiled in response to the question and rubbed his face, though he didn’t offer any comment.
‘Taylor doesn’t need to be working anymore,’ Sudeikis went on, hilariously adding, ‘I know your kicker agrees with me.’ The audience loudly applauded Sudeikis’ subtle dig at Kelce’s teammate, Harrison Butker, who came under fire for suggesting female college graduates should embrace being ‘homemakers’ rather than pursuing a career.
His teammate, Patrick Mahomes, was also on hand to support the charity event, along with celebs like Paul Rudd, Fortune Feimster, Eric Stonestreet and Heidi Gardner. It comes a couple of weeks after a source claimed Kelce has no plans to pop the question to Swift – at least not any time soon. ‘Travis has no plans on proposing to Taylor,’ an insider told Us Weekly last month.
‘It’s not even on his radar. Marriage is something he takes very seriously and not something he would ever just jump into without giving it some careful consideration,’ they went on. A separate source said the athlete ‘cares very deeply’ about the Cruel Summer hitmaker but ‘he’s just not there yet’ when it comes to popping the question. The 14-time Grammy winner began dating the NFL superstar in mid 2023, after he attended her Eras Tour show.
