Chiefs legend Dante Hall has criticized both Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes for their behavior on the sideline against the Raiders, calling the Chiefs stars ‘spoilt little brats’.
Kansas City’s offense struggled again against the Raiders on Christmas Day, gifting their rivals two touchdowns in seven seconds before failing to strike back at Arrowhead Stadium. Both of their star players struggled to hide their frustration. Kelce threw his helmet into the ground before it bounced up and landed in the stands. He also had a run-in with coach Andy Reid.
Mahomes, meanwhile, could be seen screaming at his offensive line in a brutal dressing down after coming off the field. Speaking on Good Morning Football on Wednesday, Hall – who played for the Chiefs for five seasons and was a two-time Pro Bowl selection – told the pair to ‘be better’. He said: ‘It’s like my little kids running around on Christmas Day. ‘We’ve got you a Christmas tree full of presents and you’re acting like spoilt little brats.
These guys know I love them so as a friend, as a brother I’ve got to call you out. ‘This is not a good look. I’m watching the game with my kids. My daughter loves Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce and you’re acting like that?
‘Come on guys, be better and I think the team would be better. ‘Body language is everything. When you are screaming and yelling at your players that permeates negatively. When you have had that poker face in the first five years that permeates positively.’
Hall also tore into the Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, suggesting he had allowed a lack of discipline to affect their play since replacing Eric Bieniemy. The Chiefs offensive gave up two touchdowns to the Raiders inside a record seven seconds on Christmas Day.
They also have an NFL-leading 25 drops this season and recently saw a game-winning touchdown against the Bills brought back for a blatant offside by receiver Kadarius Toney.
