Taylor Swift’s holiday plans have been uncertain due to recent events, including the passing of a fan at a concert and chaos surrounding the Brazil dates of her international Eras Tour.
Initially rumored to return to the U.S. for Thanksgiving, Swift’s plans are now up in the air, with a decision expected to be taken soon.
“She doesn’t know her holiday plans yet,” an insider told Page Six.
“The Brazil concerts… She is devastated about a fan dying. The weather is extreme. It’s a mess she didn’t expect. It’s been a traumatic experience. It’s been a lot. She is going to decide today.”
Fans passes away
The loss of a fan, 23-year-old Ana Clara Benevides, who experienced cardiac arrest after being exposed to high temperatures at Swift’s Rio de Janeiro show, has deeply affected the singer.
Swift, known for her close ties with her fanbase, may choose to stay home for emotional support during this challenging time.
The extreme heat during the concert, with a record-breaking heat index of 139 degrees Fahrenheit, adds to the complexities of the situation.
“I can’t believe I’m writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show. I can’t even tell you how devastated I am by this,” Swift wrote on social media.
“I’m not going to be able to speak about this from stage because I feel overwhelmed by grief when I even try to talk about it.
“I want to say now I feel this loss deeply and my broken heart goes out to her family and friends. This is the last thing I ever thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil.”
