Patrick and Brittany Mahomes were in New York on Thursday night at a Time 100 gala where the Chiefs quarterback was an honoree – and Travis Kelce was impressed by their style.

Mahomes shared pictures from the red carpet with his wife late on Thursday night and his Chiefs teammate comments ‘fuego!!!’ – the Spanish word for ‘fire’. Brittany shared pictures from the night herself, paying tribute to her Super Bowl-winning husband by writing: ‘Celebrating you is always a good TIME’. The couple also met a close friend of Kelce’s girlfriend Taylor Swift in Jack Antonoff, who produced Swift’s new album The Tortured Poets Department.

It was a big night elsewhere for Mahomes, as his Kansas City Chiefs team made an exciting choice in the NFL Draft in Detroit by selecting Xavier Worthy with their first round pick.
The wide receiver has drawn comparisons to Tyreek Hill with his electrifying pace and he holds the record for the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine at 4.21 seconds.

Despite being out on the night itself, Mahomes responded on X to news of his team’s draft pick by tweeting emojis of a man running and the sunglasses emoji. Patrick was listed among TIME’s most 100 people ahead of the event and it was a star-studded lineup in the Big Apple on Thursday night, with Dua Lipa, Kylie Minogue and Uma Therman also in attendance.

Soon enough for Mahomes, attention will be firmly back on the football field with the Chiefs having a shot at history. Another Super Bowl victory would see them become the first team to record a ‘three-peat’ after emerging victorious in February’s game in Las Vegas against San Francisco 49ers.

The 28-year-old already has three Super Bowl titles to his name and has, by many, been underlined as a player who could eclipse Tom Brady’s seven Super Bowl titles. But in the interview he gave to TIME to accompany being honored by the publication he said family life would always come before records in football.

Mahomes, who has two young children with Brittan – daughter Sterling (three) and Bronze (two) – said: ‘I’ve looked, if I played until Tom (Brady)’s age, my daughter would be 19, 20 years old. ‘That would mean missing plenty of youth sporting events and other commitments. ‘I would love to play that long… at the same time, I want to be there for my daughter. If I can do that, I’ll continue to play. But if I feel like it’s taking away from my family time, that’s when I’ll know it’s time to go.’
