Babies born at the Pennsylvania hospital on Taylor Swift’s birthday, Dec. 13, were celebrated with beaded friendship bracelets that look like the ones given out on the Eras tour. The bracelets were given out to family members and friends visiting the 11 babies born at the hospital that day. “In celebration of Berks County native Taylor Swift’s birthday, our babies are marking their ✨newborn era✨ today with adorable friendship bracelets from our staff!” the hospital announced on social media.

“Here’s to celebrating the spirit of connection and the beginning of many cherished bonds among our newest stars.🌟🥳.” While the bracelets are a little too big for the newborns to wear, family and friends visiting the special babies enjoyed the fun pieces of jewelry, which included sayings like “Newborn Era,” “Fierce,” and “Loved.”

In total, about 60 bracelets were shared with families of babies in the maternity unit, NICU families and some staff members who are Swifties and couldn’t resist. Families were touched by the gesture and were looking forward to sharing the sweet token with the babies one day when they become old enough to understand the significance.

“The ERAS-style friendship bracelets were such a fun way to celebrate the shared birthdays between Taylor Swift and our babies,” says Dr K. Ashley Brandt, Obstetrics Section Chief. “While I obviously don’t know Taylor personally, I would hope she’d approve of the way we honored her legacy, and mutual birthday with our newborns.”

Charles F. Barbera, MD, President and CEO of Reading Hospital, added, “It was a fun moment to provide families with a keepsake for their baby books.” “Our maternal and NICU staff members are incredible. They are truly like family. Each day, they go above and beyond to care for the babies born here. We appreciate the recognition they are receiving for their hard work and for their dedication to making sure every family feels loved and cared for while at Reading Hospital.”
