The Buffalo Bills would like nothing better than to send Travis Kelce into a long offseason of contemplation … with the Kansas City Chiefs star – maybe already the most productive tight end in NFL history – already coming up with a post-career plan.
“I’ve been fortunate to do a few things outside of the sports world that I’ve been enjoying doing, like getting on camera,” Kelce told reporters in a statement that, paired with what one “source” tells PEOPLE magazine, makes it sound like the 34-year-old star wants to go into the entertainment business.
Of course, he’s already “entertaining” in a sense, as he and the Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes are capable of putting on a show … and plan to do so in Sunday’s Divisional Round matchup at the Buffalo Bills. But eventually? “He’s really enjoyed hosting, and after he retires, he wants to lean into acting and hosting,” a source told PEOPLE. “He had a blast at SNL.” “Hosting,” as in “Saturday Night Live,” a recent gig that saw success for Kelce, who also has his entertainment-world ties as a result of his romance with superstar
“The SNL stuff kind of opened up a new happiness and a new career path for me,” he said. “But it’s funny for me to even say that at this point in my career because I think it’s so much further down the road than it is right now.” When would the Bills like Kelce to start contemplating his post-football future? Sunday night would be fine.
