Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes has bumped into Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp during a recent visit to Germany.
Mahomes is enjoying some free time after a long season that ended with a Lombardi trophy, with the superstar quarterback leading the Chiefs to their second consecutive Super Bowl. During his most recent trip, Mahomes visited the headquarters of his official supplier, Adidas, in Germany, and he crossed paths with some fellow stars. Mahomes posed for a photo with Liverpool manager Klopp, as well as South Africa captain Siya Kolisi and Adidas CEO Bjorn Gulden.
Gulden posted the photo on social media after the meeting. “One of the best ever…. Patrick Mahomes visiting HQ! Not only a fantastic athlete but also a very very nice guy!,” he wrote on Instagram. “Thanks for coming… it is an honor to work with you!” Mahomes has been with Adidas since he was drafted in 2017, while Klopp penned a deal with his home country brand in 2020. Though, both Liverpool and the Chiefs wear Nike uniforms.
Mahomes’ sports investments
The superstar quarterback is known for tuning in to just about every sport on television, and he does seem to have a keen interest in football. He and wife Brittany have invested no less than $125 million in NWSL team the Kansas City Current, while he also owns part of MLS side Sporting Kansas City,
Mahomes’ sports investment does not end there, with another investment in the Kansas City Royals Major League Baseball team, while he has also invested in Formula 1 team Alpine, alongside celebrity backers such as Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
Speaking about that particular investment, he said: “I think everybody can see the appeal. I’ve been able to get to a couple of races now, seeing the environment, you see ‘Drive To Survive’ on Netflix and how competitive it is. We were able to go to some of those races and get a little stake in the game.”
