Taylor Swift has been branded a “distraction” by Skip Bayless following the Kansas City Chiefs’ 20-14 defeat to the Las Vegas Raiders at the Arrowhead Stadium in Week 16.
The Chiefs blanked in two of the quarters whilst the Raiders added points in all but the fourth, including a 14-point run in the second quarter just before half-time. It leaves them with a 9-6 record for the season (.600) as the defending Super Bowl champions have lost of their four of their last six games, holding a record of .333 since their bye week in Week 10 and Bayless credits the poor run to the Grammy-winning artist instead of the football players.
“Feels like it’s about time to call Taylor Swift a distraction,” the pundit wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “What do you think, Patrick [Mahomes]? Andy [Reid]? How about you, Travis [Kelce]?” Fortunately for them, they still lead the AFC West by two wins after the Raiders, Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers have been unable to capitalise on the run of form, but they’re well out of the race to win the AFC Conference this season.
Kelce’s stats vs Raiders
It’s a frustrating run of form for the Chiefs, who are in a bad rut, right before the play-offs are due to begin which is exactly what a team doesn’t want to happen. Kelce displayed his anger at the situation during an emotional outburst on the field leading to Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid attempting to calm him down and get him refocused as he slammed his helmet into the turf.
Kelce made five receptions for 44 yards against the Nevadan franchise for an average of 8.8 yards per carry, and didn’t manage to score a touchdown in the contest. He will look to respond against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17 on Sunday, December 31 with the game live on air via CBS.
