A lucky fan from up close at the Eras Tour caught the whole incident on video, including Swift’s unbelievable reaction.

Playing through the pain
While performing surprise songs for the Edinburgh crowd during an acoustic set, Taylor suffered an on-stage blunder that she wasn’t totally sure how to deal with. Her hand appeared to cramp up on stage while holding her guitar.

Moving and wriggling her hand around in the air, Taylor said: “I’m so sorry everyone, this has never happened before but my hand is frozen … “it’s like forming a claw.” Taylor massaged her hand for a few moments before going on to continue her surprise song section of the Eras Tour setlist. Her inspired response wowed all 73,000 fans packed into Murrayfield Stadium, a record-setting crowd for a Scottish stadium show.

What would Kelce do?
Somewhere across the pond, Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce probably saw the viral incident on TikTok and beamed with pride. NFL players like the Kansas City Chiefs tight end are known for playing through the pain and battling through injuries to give the fans what they paid to see.

During the Chiefs’ 2023-2024 Super Bowl run, he battled a bone bruise in his knee and a sprained ankle, not to mention a number of bumps and bruises throughout each game. In the offseason, he opened up to Wall Street Journal about the physical strain playing football puts on his body.

“That’s the only thing I’ve never really been open about,” he told WSJ. “The discomfort, the pain, the lingering injuries. The 10 surgeries I’ve had that I still feel every single surgery to this day.” And yet, Kelce shines on. Of course, so does Swift. Two of the hardest working performers in their respective industries, both hardwired to overcome any obstacle for the benefit of their fans paying hard-earned money to see them do their thing.
