Chiefs TE Travis Kelce Sends Strong Message Ahead of Raiders Game

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is set to extend his record – and put himself into the next level of all-time pass catchers – if he meets his projections this weekend.

Kelce and the Chiefs are set to take on the Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas Day – with the star tight end just 76 yards short of earning yet another 1,000 yard season. If he pulls it off, he’ll extend his record of having the most 1000+ yard seasons among tight ends with eight – doubling his advantage over the next-closest players.

That would also move him to a tie for eighth all-time among all pass catchers in NFL history. He’d share that record alongside wide receivers Brandon Marshall, Reggie Wayne, Steve Smith Sr., Derrick Mason, Torry Holt, Marvin Harrison Sr., Rod Smith, Isaac Bruce, Cris Carter, and Steve Largent.

Kelce already passed 11,000 yards receiving in a career earlier this season – sitting at 11,268 total which puts him 38th all time and fourth among active players. All this comes despite Kelce missing the first game of the season due to an injury.

Taylor Swift, Kelce’s girlfriend, is rumored to be planning on attending the Raiders game – set to be played at Arrowhead Stadium. She’s also expected to be there for the final home game of the regular season for Kansas City which takes place the following week against the Cincinnati Bengals. KC will close their season on January 7 on the road against the Los Angeles Chargers.
