Taylor Swift had a cheeky response for NFL commentator Tony Romo, who mistakenly referred to her as Travis Kelce’s wife during a broadcast.
The mix-up first happened on Christmas Day when cameras panned to Swift after Kelce’s 900th career catch for the Kansas City Chiefs. “His wife loves it – I mean girlfriend,” Romo corrected himself. The same mistake was repeated on January 10th during the Chiefs’ victory over the Buffalo Bills. Swift and Romo finally met in person on Sunday at the AFC Championship Game. Swift, having likely seen the viral clips of Romo’s blunders, quipped: “We’re doing very different things, aren’t we? It’s a different skill set.”
Romo initially missed Swift’s offer of a fist bump but quickly reciprocated before they parted ways. The Chiefs triumphed over the Ravens 17-10, securing their place in the Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers on February 11th.
Kelce successfully caught every single one of the 11 passes made to him by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, allowing him to accumulate 116 yards and score the game’s first touchdown. The reaction of pop star Taylor was captured for all to see in the Chief’s suite, shouting “Oh my god” when Kelce scored after just seven minutes.
This means that we’re getting ready for a replay of the exhilarating match between the Chiefs and the 49ers from Super Bowl LIV. San Francisco had led the game with 10 points as they entered the fourth quarter during Mahomes’ first-ever Super Bowl.
