Reid had some interesting things to say that will make NFL fans’ ears perk up about how Swift and Kelce’s relationship impacts the Chiefs on the football field.

Big Red faced countless questions about Kelce dating Swift during Kansas City’s tumultuous 2023 season. He was not shy to express his support of the record-breaking pass catcher, even going as far as suggesting Taylor Swift helped the Chiefs win and that he would consider himself a “Swiftie.”

In the podcast interview with The Athletic’s Dianna Russini just days before NFL rookies and quarterbacks are set to hit the field for training camp, Reid couldn’t help but laugh when he referred to his star tight end as Taylor Swift’s “water boy.”

Is Taylor Swift making the Chiefs better or worse? It might sound harsh, but the coach meant it as a compliment. He said that Swift and Kelce both enjoy getting opportunities to support each other and let the other be a star.

It’s a nice change of pace to the pressure each of them face to be the best in their profession the rest of the time, he explained.

Reid supports anything that will reduce the stress of his team as Patrick Mahomes leads the charge for a historic Super Bowl three-peat in 2024. He likes it even more when it gives him a chance to clown on his star player a little bit.
